BLACK HISTORY MONTH:

WHEN DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE BLACK?

Race - the grouping of humans based on their shared physical or social qualities into categories generally viewed as distinct by society. It is not real, but has been created,  is accepted and continues to be observed and practiced.

We all have had a moment in our lives when the reality of this social construct kicked in! It's a life-altering thing, let's talk about it.

SISTERHOOD

Sisterhood by definition: the relationship between sisters, an association, society, or community of women linked by a common interest.

But What is it, really? Is it a natural connection, or must it be forged?

What does it look like?

Does it lift woman up, or does it break them down?

BLACK AT WORK

“The workplace can be a battleground for racism”

Being Black at Work goes far beyond Affirmative Action and Diversity seminars. It’s a tension between greatness & restraint.

From Micro-aggressions to Code-switching, climbing the ladder requires the masking of one’s Blackness. Trading your authenticity for visibility. But is this sustainable? And how much longer must non-white South Africans pay this emotional tax in order to succeed?
